Significant Figures Review page • Zeros do not count if they are behind a number and there is no decimal point. • Remember when there is a decimal point, the zero could be significant. • ***Find a decimal in a number, find the first significant figure in that number and that number and those that follow are all significant.
Scientific notation • This is the standard form for scientific notation • M x 10 n • M has to be a number between 1 and 10. • If n is a negative number, the number is smaller than 1.
