Organize! Separate employment information by date • Most recent first • Oldest - Last • Write it out so you can read it before you type it
JOB OBJECTIVE The job objective provides a focus for your resume. • 1 or 2 sentences • Be short and to the point • Avoid wordiness • Avoid job titles. • It is best to use broad categories of jobs rather than specific titles.
JOB OBJECTIVE Clearly state what sort of a job you want • Job objectives should be stated as verb phrases • rather than sentences. • Carefully selected verbs will make you sound confident • Omit "I-centered" or obvious statements. • Such as "where I can learn" or "which will • enable me to advance."
Not all resumes will have objectives • 1. What kind of position do you seek? • 2. What kind of company do you want to • work for? • If you have several job objectives, you may have a resume for each specific objective

Examples • Responsible for fry cook station, customer service, cashier and kitchen maintenance. Assisted manager in scheduling and inventory. • Responsible for general written correspondence, multi-line telephone, and customer service. Created marketing plan which increased sales 5% over 4 months.
