The Trojan War. By: Andy Pressman. Why did the war happen?. Mostly because of the taxation of all ships coming through the Sea of Marmara which made the Greeks angry and made them want to destroy the city of Troy.

Why did the war happen? • Mostly because of the taxation of all ships coming through the Sea of Marmara which made the Greeks angry and made them want to destroy the city of Troy. • Also the saying : “The face that launched 1000 ships” because Helen was so beautiful, the Greeks were determined to win her back and bring he back to Greece.

  4. The Greeks • Odysseus • Achilles(Achilles heel) • King Menelaus • Patroclus • Hera • Thetis • Athena (chief supporter) • Agamemnon

Who was Achilles? • The greatest warrior of the Greeks • Killer of hector • The almost immortal • How come he died? • Not fully immortal • His mortality wasn’t totally removed because his mother didn’t have time to immortalize his whole body because Achilles was being held by his heel • Happened at the River Styx

  6. The Trojan Horse • “For my part, I fear the Greeks even when…Gifts” • That was the response of Lacoon. A Trojan Priest after seeing the great Trojan Horse • Thought up and designed by the great Odysseus later called Ulysses by the Romans.
