  3. Why Participate? • Learning about what it takes to ‘make things happen’ • Developing enterprise skills in practice • Increased chances of getting a job • More likely to set up a successful company • Developing media industry specific skills & knowledge

What Do I Have to Do to Win? • Apply 30/05: http://evapplication.eventbrite.com/ • Participate 06/06: Film skills training session • Film 07/06 - 16/06: carry out two entrepreneur interviews • Edit 16/06 – 25/06 • Commentary (250-500 words max) outline enterprise capacities captured on film • Upload 5pm, 25/06: interviews and commentary to Moodle • Attend 28/06: Prize giving • Be available for placement: specified days between 9th July – 1st August (see Project Timeline document)

What makes someone entrepreneurial? • Sees opportunities in problems • Uses initiative • Analyses data to make decisions • Thinks creatively to solve problems • Is forward looking • Sees the ‘bigger picture’ • Possesses optimism and positivity • Strong sense of ownership and independenceis determined • Makes judgements with limited information  • Has an ability to persuade others • Uses networks and harnesses contacts • Has a desire to see things to the end • Has lots of ideas • Has a strong desire to achieve

What to think about in sourcing interviewees and planning interviews: • What am I personally interested in/ passionate about? • What things do I want to know about a specific industry or type of organisation? • Who do I know who is inspirational in this area? • How do I get in touch with them? • Who can provide advice or contacts? (see final slide!) • What questions am I going to ask in the interview that enables the interviewee to draw out entrepreneurial capacities in an interesting way?
