  1. PREFACE This slideshow presentation is intended for an audience of middle school to junior high aged girls. Girls of this age are usually experiencing issues pertaining to their looks. Puberty is beginning or already in progress and many young girls don’t know how to feel about themselves. Society places a large emphasis on the way we look, thus creating a vision that we should all be perfect in our appearance. This presentation strives to show young girls that looks can be deceiving; and that we are all beautiful in our own way. I hope that by viewing this presentation, many girls will be able to feel more confidently about themselves. I envision this presentation being viewed in a classroom setting; possibly as part of a physical education program since the class is already separated between girls and boys. I would also recommend that a similar slideshow be presented to boys of the same age. Society may portray the human being as perfect and absent of any flaws; however, our imperfections and flaws are what make us beautiful. My purpose is to help young girls see that what may appear to be perfect is not always so. By creating a visual for girls I believe it will create more of a lasting impact. I hope that by doing so many of the girls will walk away feeling better about them- selves. Thus, accomplishing my intended goal.
