  2. LONG TERM GOAL • Students will be empowered with the better knowledge of Mathematics. • Focus the learning objectives on the principal of high order thinking • Adopting 21st century teaching and approaches to enhance the students appreciation.

  3. SHORT TERM GOALs • To develope proficiency in Mathematics skills and enhance their critical thinking. • To improve the result of underachievers. • Focus on the Mathematical process students use to get the answer,not just the answer itself. • Encourage collaboration amonge students.

  5. STRATEGIES AND TASKS • Applications of techniques required for higher ordered thinking. • To improve the performanceand generate overall interest among the students : • Group Activities • Making effective use of internet.

  7. CHALLENGES AND Solutions Challenges SOLUTIONS Students find the subject problematic thus there is lack of interest. There may be some students who do not want to work in group. Unwillingness of students make the job even more challenging. To develop interest appropriate method of teaching will be used. I will randomly group students to encourage collaboration with all class members. Students will be motivated through activity-based learning.

  11. Introduction • Showing a clock with 3 hands,students will be asked to identify the hands. • Measuring time in seconds. • Writing second as ‘s’. • Recalling events which are measured in second. • 1 hour= 60 min. 1min.=60sec.

Activity • Rectangular Strips of paper • 1) Recalling with the class that like Fractions are Fractions with the same denominators. • 2) Recalling the adding of like Fractions as follows: • Display on the table 3 strips of paper showing 3 like Fractions, 2/11 & 5/11 & 1/11. • Pictures representing wholes and Fractions. • Display the picture of one whole and one half • apples to the students. • Show the class that 1 &1/2 apples can be combined and written as 1 ½ apples.
