  6. Musical Instruments • Each person had a role: • Beater • Blower • Drum Beater • Shell Trumpet Blower • Drums made of gold or wood • Flutes made of reed or bone • Trumpet made of shell or ceramic • Rattle made of wood or ceramic • Each instrument symbolized a character

  7. Sculptures • Aztecs had 2 types • Small: • Represent animals • Almost 2 cm high • Large: • Represent humans or gods

  9. Writings Records found in Aztec libraries Nahuatl writing = pictograph and hieroglyphic Nahuatl writing was symbols for characters

  10. Architecture • Types of Architecture: • Temples • Houses • Roads • Political Buildings • Architecture was valuable • Decoration

  12. Houses House made of wood and loam Roof made of reed Wealth of family Normal houses 15-25 sq meters (50-82ft)
