  7. Carbon dioxide A gas made of carbon and oxygen atoms that plants need for photosynthesis

  8. oxygen A colorless gas found in the air. Humans and animals need oxygen to breathe. Oxygen makes up 21 percent of earth’s atmosphere

  9. respiration The process of breathing air to get oxygen and breathing out waste gases
