  1. Using GPS technology, Life Beacon™ communicates with satellites to locate you or a loved one in an emergency, and then informs emergency responders and specified contact persons of your location. When the SOS button on the Life Beacon™ device is pressed, within seconds you will be connected with a live person from our monitoring center and are able to have a two-way conversation. Help is available 24/7. The Life Beacon™ device can be preconfigured to be “mute.” This option is best for victims of domestic abuse or abduction to be able to call for help without their attacker knowing. The mute option does not allow for the two-way dialogue.

  2. LifeBeacon™ can be worn around the neck as a lanyard, or as a watch. The user simply presses the long, rectangular button when they need help. The user does not have to be tied to their home and land-line phone to call for help like other medical alert systems. The LifeBeacon™ system gives the user more freedom with the benefit of security.

  3. After signing up for Life Beacon™ services you will be given access to the online portal. Once logged into the online GPS portal, family and caregivers are immediately taken to the “tracking” page where they can see the present location of their loved one. They may also choose to be shown the last location, the last 2 or 5 or more locations the person has been to, then click on the green “Locate Now” button and the GPS transmitter will show the past locations. If the “Show Home Location” button is selected, it will show how far away the person is from their residence.

  4. Geo-fencing is a tool ideally used for Alzheimer’s and dementia patients and other vulnerable adults. It allows caregivers to set up boundaries wherein the patient is allowed to travel. When the patient goes outside of the set boundaries, an alarm goes off notifying caregivers. To set up Geo-fencing, simply click on the green balloon at the edge of the circle, and pull it out farther or pull it in closer to where you want the boundary set. It can be set to the edge of the front yard, or even two miles away- whatever you want. After the boundary is determined, click on the green button that says “Enable Geofence.” It is that simple.

  5. The Speed Limit alert feature will sound an alarm if the Life Beacon user gets into a car that goes over a specified speed limit. It can be set as low as 20mph, or as high as 100mph. To set up this feature go into your online portal account and click on the “Reminders” tab along the top. Select your speed limit and click on the “Update Speed Limit” button when done. From this screen you can also edit and view current alert settings.

  6. You can also view the user’s history of pressing their Help Alert button (SOS), requests of the user’s location, low battery notifications, etc., along with the date, time, address and user location coordinates. This can be accessed by clicking on the “History” tab on the top.

  7. # 1 # 3 # 2 Family and friends can be listed as contacts to be notified in case the Life Beacon user calls for help and other emergency situations. To add contact persons, click on the “Customer” tab along the top, then click on the “Contacts” tab to the left. List your information, how you want to be contacted and click the “add contact” button.
