  1. APEX Schedule March 8 2006 injection store BPM fixed trigger TJS, RobM Collimation in Phenix KAD Beam based sextupole polarity YL TS Third order resonance correction Back 2 physics Optics MBai Stochastic cooling test MJB, MMB 8:00 10:00 12:00 1:00 4:00 5:00 • 2:00 pm: dry run of Simons • Cogging/uncogging • STAR event display • FCP, PFI, PWS, Christie

  2. Summary of March 8 APEX Lost 3+ hours on cooling water problems in AtR Experiments agreed to allow 1 extra h of APEX (we ended at 6 pm) • BPM “fixed trigger” (Michnoff, Satogata)slide • Stochastic cooling test of aperture at kicker at injection (Brennan, Blaskiewicz). DONE. result: horizontally well centered – vertical +6mm vs –3 mm drop 3 mm at the next maintenance • Beam-based sextupole polarity (Luo,Satogata)slide • Optics (Bai): done at injection, rescheduled at store • Study of radiation in Phenix detector, work on collimation for STAR and Phenix (Drees) - DONE

  3. BPM trigger test Michnoff, Satogata Bpm’s operational so far in auto-trigger – to start (easier to get signals) – plan is to switch to fixed-trigger Problem: beam intensity now just about in between gain 1 and 10 (~0.7-0.8 1011 existing threshold) Last APEX: data taking towards fixed trigger BO6 BPM’s were converted to fixed trigger  ramp data comparison (picture fill 07580 07586) Fixed trigger Auto-trigger

  4. Beam based sextupole polarity check Luo, Satogata • Validation of method • 1/3 blue ring done • Will do the ‘production’ • in the next 1-2 weeks

  5. Optics measurements Bai • Improvement in BPMs • Improvement in algorithm, • now completely model • independent • Glitch in the • calculation of • beta* in IR6 • Deferred store with improvement in BPMs and modified algorithm that is 100% model independent

  6.
