Lucy Tweed For Green Officer • I am: • A second year Nat Sci at Pembroke • Passionate about the environment and ethical affairs • Why Me? • I am treasurer of the Zero Carbon Society and am thus involved in organising green campaigns and talks across Cambridge • I have previously volunteered at a community recycling charity and also organised a recycling scheme at school. • I will: • Create a Green Team to spearhead action within college • Extend recycling initiatives by introducing waste paper bins to rooms and organising plastic bag collection and recycling • Ensure that all fire and environmental wardens are doing an effective job • Regular emails to mailing list with extra green tips and ideas and to publicise university-wide events and campaigns • Regular green socials and events such as food/wine tasters and jumble sales • Work with college on issues including ethical investment, energy consumption, water use and sustainable food sourcing • Increase information available to students about energy use in Pembroke • Get recycled paper sold in college (in JP or in library) • Minimise the waste produced at Bops and music nights Proposed by: Mark Robinson Seconded by: Neeru Ravi
