SBS Datacollection • SBS comprises 4 sectors (annex 1-4): • Services • Industry • Distributive trade • Construction • Sample of +/- 44000 enterprises each year • +/- 33000: laying down annual accounts • The associations and the small enterprises not laying donw accounts, are out of scope of this project at this time

SBS Taxonomy • No sectoral diversification • Same documents for entities out of the 4 sectors • Own SBS-taxonomy (import of some parts of taxonomy of the National Bank of Belgium) • Reusability of items out of Belgian GAAP • Reuse of some items out of the detailed accounts of enterprises (≈ Belgian GAAP) • Full: 1/3 of the items are reused out of the GAAP • Abbr: 1/2 of the items are reused out of the GAAP • No reusability of items out of the annual accounts due to administrative simplification

SBS Taxonomy • Non-intrusive approach • Xbrl or paper (in line with the NBB) • Xbrl: • Publication of the taxonomy on our website (november) • Software companies are invited to include our taxonomy in their accounting software (based on xbrl): already 1 company shown some interest in it (the biggest of Belgium) • Contact of accountancy enterprises should start asap • Development of application based on xbrl

Afterwards, probably extension to other (or all) enterprise statistics (depends on experiences with SBS + the spreading of the use of xbrl through the whole federal administration)
