Only 1/5 of an ice berg shows on the surface. • In winter, Antarctica almost doubles in size.

Birds mainly come to land to breed. • Fur seals can dive for 100 meters or more. • Giant Petrels are also known as the ‘Vultures of Antarctica’. • The biggest bird of Antarctica is the Wandering Albatros with a wing • Span of 3 meters and can travel up to 5,000 miles. Albatros chicks weigh • 10 kilos and are fed by their mothers every 3 to 4 days for 10 months.
