Cenizas del perdón Ashes of Pardon SYNOPSIS What do an isolated community in the middle of the Democratic Republic of Congo’s jungle and Barack Obama have in common? Ashes of Pardon is the story of the inhabitants of the Mbanza Nzambi village, the village of God, located in the heart of the Congolese jungle. A village that raises its voice and prayers for the rest of humanity. They do penitence enshrouded in sacks and with their bodies covered in ash, emulating a passage from the Old Testament (Jonas 3, 5-6). Gondism, a movement founded by Tata Honda Wasilua Wanguitoukoulou, announces the arrival of a black messiah that will free and ensure the unity of the Kongo people. Men and women, elders and children, they have all gathered courage since the arrival of Barack Obama. The long awaited moment draws near. EL PROYECTO Tala Tala is an unique production company, as unique as the project they present this year at África Produce. Founded by Argentinan Gabriel Amdur and the Congolese Gilbert Ndunga, they have joined a Colombian production company, Antorcha Films to present us Ashes of Pardon, a project also selected at Miradas Doc and invited by the Pavillion des Cinemas du Monde of Cannes film festival .
