Background & Methods • 140,000 heterosexual HIV serodiscordant couples in the United States • 50+% desire children • Serodiscordant couples and providers may not know the range of safer conception options • Many couples lack access to sperm washing or assisted reproduction technologies • National Perinatal HIV Hotline and Clinicians’ Network • Types of calls from patients/clinicians analyzed from 2006 to 2011 (N=152)

  3. Results & Conclusions Male+/Surrogate 7% Female+/Male- 9% Male+/Female- 84% Providing safer conception options to serodiscordant couples is a critical component of promoting the reproductive rights of HIV-affected couples in the United States. Perinatal HIV Hotline 1-888-448-8765
