  1. Types of End-of-Arm Tooling Devices End of arm tooling devices also known as grippers and extenders are a big part of today's industries. End of arm tools are designed to improve the mobility, speed, distance, and precision of machines in the manufacturing floor. Such end e?ector devices are usually fixed with a robotic machine/system. The tools then act as an arm for the system, carrying out specific jobs. Since the gripper tool comes in direct contact with the products, it is essential to ensure accuracy and steadiness, to minimize the risk of errors and damages. We have compiled a few types of end of arm tooling devices that are used in the manufacturing processes extensively. 1. Mechanical gripper Mechanical grippers possess a set of fingers that are programmed to be controlled by the mother robot. The arm executes the job as commanded by the robot, controlled by an operator. 2. Vacuum gripper As the name suggests, vacuum grippers possess a vacuum system at the end of the arm. The speed and the force of the vacuum can be controlled by the operator. The suction system e?ectively sucks in the objects that are typically flat and that which cannot be damaged.

  2. 3. Magnetised devices Magnetised end of arm tools are used for products that contain ferrous components. The magnetic energy ensures that the products are safely transferred without any damages. 4. Adhesive devices Fabric manufacturers are known for using adhesive end of arm tools to transfer delicate fabric bundles without damaging the goods. 5. Simple Grippers Simple grippers are tools that are usually used at the end of the arm by manufacturers. It usually includes hooks and scoops. 6. Dual grippers Dual grippers are mechanical tools with two arms. It is usually used during the machine operating time, where one end loads, while the other end unloads at the same time, thereby decreasing the time involved. 7. Sensory feedback fingers Sensory feedback fingers are mechanical grippers with the ability of identifying the components and applying the right amount of force in transferring them. Usually used in industries that deal with delicate components like mobile parts, these fingers are an asset to the process. End of arm tools play an important role in the manufacturing process, enabling industries to leverage the best of technologies e?ectively. Melss produces the best
