  2. Comparison of a Traditional reading strategy with a technology integration reading strategy. Mrs. Flunker’s 2nd Grade Hillcrest Elementary School SP2011 Shawano, WI Boys- 10 Girls- 6 Mrs. Flunker has been Teaching for 22 yrs., and 2nd grade for the last two years. She has never used an I-pod in class before.

  3. Reading Center time 15 minutes 4 children per group 2 children on I-pod 2children with books Students were instructed 1-Choose an appropriate reading level book and read. 2-Switch after 7 minutes. 3- Before leaving center Students discussed Preferred reading method. I-pod was previously Downloaded with Dr. Seuss books, as well as other age appropriate books.

  8. Some children had exceptionalities

  9. Some students were gifted/talented

  10. Children had @ 7 minutes on I pod

  14. The next step will be to incorporate the I-pod into their language arts curriculum

  16. My first 2nd grade read aloud 1st read aloud book 3-10-11 “Today was good. Today was fun. Tomorrow is another one.” (Dr. Seuss)
