Argyle is located in the remote and stunning East Kimberley region of Western Australia 阿盖尔地处西澳大利亚偏远、风景壮阔的东金伯利地区 • The East Kimberley is one of the world’s last wild places. Dotted with canyons, rivers, waterfalls, mountains and unusual rock formations, it is dramatic and full of vivid colours. Argyle’s diamonds took more than a billion years to bring to market阿盖尔钻石历经10亿多年终于面世 • Approximately 1.6 billion years ago carbon atoms 150 kilometers below the earth’s surface came under immense forces of heat and pressure. A chance discovery unearthed a hidden treasure一个偶然的机会发现了深埋地下的宝藏 • The geological “pipe” of lamproite rock that is the source of Argyle’s diamonds was discovered in 1979 after a geologist in the exploration team spotted a diamond • embedded in an anthill near a creek. A strong indigenous heritage 浓厚的本土传统 • Argyle’s traditional owners, the Mirriwong / Gija people, believe that long ago, in the Dreamtime (the creation of all sacred things) a beautiful fish was hunted until it became trapped in a sacred women’s area called Barramundi Gap.
