Rhythms of Life • A high energy percussion presentation that incorporates the keys to Quantum Learning • Assembly Format one and a quarter to one and a half hours • Totally engaging with lots of participation
Rhythms of Life • For Junior and Senior Students grades 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12. • Adapted language and percussion techniques depending on appropriate age and grade levels. • Highly energizing. • Acoustic and electronic percussion demonstrated.
Rhythms of Life • Bins and pails are used to demonstrate basic african rhythms and percussion techniques. • Cajon is used to demonstrate nuevo flamenco, latin, batshata and merengue techniques. • Electronic Roland V10 is used to demonstrate funk and modern jazz.
Goals • Expose and energize students toward various forms of percussion. • Fun and learning together–what a concept. • Expose and energize students toward various styles of music. • Demonstrate music as organized sound to be drawn out from percussion instruments.
Goals • Introduce the “Eight Keys of Excellence from Quantum Learning. • Relate stories of success and empowerment. • Encourage positive self-esteem. • Encourage ‘character’ building strategies. • Encourage and support ‘anti-bullying’ strategies.
Follow-Up Activities • A character building and anti-bullying activity is included so that teachers can follow-up with their class right after the assembly. • Teachers are given a page of positive self-esteem words to use in the classroom. • Teachers are given a synopsis of quantum learning and references to follow-up with teacher training.
