Solomon Turns From The Lord • When Solomon walked with God and obeyed God, God blessed him and gave him EVERYTHING! • What happened to Solomon? • His heart turned away from God • Solomon did not obey God any more and… Lets read page 242 in our Bibles • One of Solomon’s servants was Jeroboam, he was hard working and a prohetAhijah told him that one day he will rule 10 tribes.

The Kingdom is Divided ( page 245) • Rehoboam was Solomon’s son. • Rehoboam lived with all Solomon’s riches, when Rehoboam knew his father Solomon had passed away he wanted to become KING. • Rehoboam was not very wise and did not listen to the advice of the elders. • Most of the people did not want Rehoboam as their king and the kingdom was divided. • Only the tribe of Judah followed Rehoboam.

Jeroboam Makes Two Golden Calves • One of the people against Rehoboam was Jeroboam. • Jeroboam was one of Solomon’s servants and he led the people who did not want to follow Rehoboam. • He was scared that if the people went to the temple they might follow Rehoboam again so built golden statues and told the people to worship them instead of the true God. • God sent a prophet to warn Jeroboam but he still didn’t listen.
