Waste products build up in pool • N-containing compounds • CO2 from respiration • Increase in acidity due to CO2 build up • Returning tide restores normal conditions • Wastes washed away • Plankton & nutrients come in • Salinity, temp, and pH normalize • WAVE SHOCK!!
