  2. How it Began • There was a conference of ministers on August 20th, 1935 about the actions of the Jews. • Many criticized the behavior of Party members about rebuilding the German economy.

  3. Law 1: Protection of German Blood & Honor • Prohibited Marriage between Aryans and non-Aryans (Jews) • Sexual Relation between Aryans and non- Aryans outside of marriage are forbidden

  4. Protection of German Blood & Honor (cont.) • Jews could not employ female Germans or kindred blood as domestic servants • Jews could not display the Reich and national flag or colors • But, they could display Jewish colors

  5. Consequences for Breaking Law 1 • A person who disobeys Section 1 will be subject to hard labor. • A person who disobeys Section 2 will be punished with imprisonment and hard labor. • A person who disobeys Section 3 or 4 will be imprisoned for up to a year with a fine, or with one of the penalties stated above.

  6. Law 2: The Reich Citizenship Law “Article I” • A person of the State belongs to the protective union of the German Reich. • The status of subject acquired in accordance with the provisions of the Reich and State Law of Citizenship.

  7. Law 2: The Reich Citizenship Law“Article II” • A citizen of the Reich must show loyalty to German and kindred blood through his conduct, and must show he is fit to serve German people and the Reich. • The right to citizenship is gained by the granting of Reich citizenship papers. • Only citizens of the Reich can enjoy full political rights in accordance with the provision of the laws.

  8. Law 2: The Reich Citizenship Law“Article 3” • The Reich Minister of the Interior in conjunction with the Deputy of Fuhrer will issue legal and administrative decrees for carrying out and supplementing this law.
