2. General Responsibilities –1st, 2nd and 3rd Nurse

3. Responsibilities of 1st Nurse • Receiving of Eye Ball from the external source. • Autoclaving of OP & IP equipments & instruments (only on Saturdays and Sundays). • Handing over the Medical Record of the Patient who has not paid fully for the surgery • Meeting the floor in-charge mlop in their work place and taking over the work from them along with Health form • Getting information about specific cases (VIP patients, systemic and ocular complicated patients). 4. Responsibilities of 1st Nurse • Going for rounds with Duty Doctor in all the floors and give injections in case of injections prescribed • Conducting Slit lamp examination for the patients who are admitted after 6.00pm. • Checking the Health form for identifying whether any instructions is missed after the rounds. • Attending Ocular emergencies and patients in the ICU with the Doctor. • Administering dilating drops for the patients who are recommended for the surgery Contd….,

Responsibilities of 1st Nurse • Explaining the intake of food (taking food after checking the Blood sugar) for the patients with systemic diseases . • Preparing the patients for surgery if they are normal. • Patients referred from Community and Vision centers should get ready before 7.00clock to get the vehicle corresponding to their village locality vision centers • Handing over and taking up the ICU things in the from the staff. Responsibilities of 1st Nurse • Checking the Blood Pressure and fasting blood sugar of the cardiac patients (waiting for surgery) . • Informing in the OT in-charge regarding the number of patients recommended for surgery. • Handing over the details (not paid, complicated cases & systemic cases) to MLOP (floor in charge)

Responsibilities of 2nd Nurse • Receiving of Eye Ball from the external source. • Autoclaving of OP & IP equipments & instruments (only on Saturdays and Sundays). • Handing over the Medical Record of the Patient who has not paid fully for the surgery • Collecting Drops list from the Ward In charge MLOP and instilling drops to the patients as mentioned in their Medical Record Contd….,

8. Responsibilities of 2nd Nurse • Checking the Blood sugar and BP of the patients, who’s surgery is planned for the next day. • Informing the patients and attenders who’s Blood sugar and BP is high • Counselling the patients and their attenders to continue the medication as mentioned and inform in advance if the Blood sugar and BP is not normal Physician’s opinion is obtained

9. Responsibilities of 3rd Nurse • Receiving of Eye Ball from the external source. • Autoclaving of OP & IP equipments & instruments (only on Saturdays and Sundays). • Handing over the Medical Record of the Patient who has not paid fully for the surgery • Indenting of things (cotton rolls and urine stripes) from the Senior MLOP. • Collecting and providing Bed sheets for the House keeping departments in case of emergency admissions . Responsibilities of 3rd Nurse • Collecting the Urine Sugar’ list from the Senior MLOP, checking the urine sugar and attaching the healthy form file. • Collecting the Corneal Ulcer patient’s list ,instilling eye drops and dressing the eye in the evening and morning. • Bundling the equipments and instruments used in the OPD for autoclaving and after autoclaving arranging in the right place. 11. Responsibilities of 3rd Nurse • Making wipers for the next days’ OP patient s • Collecting the list of patients who is advised for GA and taking them to the GA roomfor surgery • Collecting the fasting and culture reports from the Lab and handing over it to the Senior MLOP Contd….,
