Addition and Subtraction Math Facts

1. This professional development presentation instructs teachers in the designing of a Math power point computer program accompanied by a website which creates reinforcing work sheets. It can also be created with the help of students. The reinforcement of basic math facts is integral in a child’s becoming proficient in the rapid recall of these facts. This in turns facilitates tin their acquisition of more difficult math skills. Addition and Subtraction Math Facts The power point computer program is an interactive activity that allows the primary grade child an opportunity to see the processes of addition and subtraction. 6. Add number facts and shapes Choose Shapes for your problem from Home tool bar. Copy and Paste desired number of shapes. Add movement and sound. Click on Animation tool bar. Click on custom animations. The screen to the right is where you will do your custom animation work. Click on the shape and click on Add Effect to right of screen. Click on Entrance or Exit then slide cursor over to choose effect. Choose to apply motion or sound effects in the order that you want them to appear on the screen. All of the items that you are custom animating will be listed in the space under Add Effects. Click on the shape that where you want to add sound and click on the pull down menu then choose Effect Options. Go to the No Sound default pull down menu and choose a sound. You must do this to each shape. The speed of the movement can be controlled after you choose the movement (eg. Very slow, moderate, fast) Have fun experimenting !
