Introduction • Social Impact Monitoring (SIM): social condition • Vulnerability Assessment (VA): social vulnerability • Objective: to establish social impact indicators that reflect current socio-economic conditions and the extent of people’s dependence on water resources • Water quality monitoring and ecological monitoring • Monitoring: • Identify any significant changes in people’s dependence on water resources • Serve as an indicator of any potentially significant social impacts • Serve as the need for precautionary measure
Historical process: SIMVA 1 (2004-2006): Literature review for SIM and VA SIMVA 2 (2008-2010): Pilot Study for the Mekong Corridor SIMVA 3 (2010-2012): Baseline Survey for the Lower Mekong Basin
