Definitions • Observation: the minimum schedulable entity. • May include calibrations. • May contain one or more observe commands generating one or more datasets (files). • Science program: one or more observations comprising an individual proposal. • Nightly plan: a set of observations for possible execution on one night. • Queue: a list of observations for execution in order • With (configurable) operator intervention if required.

Division of NGO Effort • The principal issue is that National Gemini Offices will not have adequate staffing to cover all areas of expertise. • Suggested initial division of responsibilities: UK: HROS Michelle GMOS Astrometry? US: NIRI NIRS MIRI Phoenix IRAF Canada: GAOS Sci. Archive? • NB: responsibility is to entire Gemini community.
