Health Ingenuity Exchange - HingX • Open Health Tools project initially sponsored by the Rockefeller Foundation – initially known as HEART • HingX provides: • a global resource registry with relationships between resources • a reference repository • access to other repositories • Objective is to enable the registration of all Health related ICT resources globally • HL7 has been a co-sponsor to fulfill the requirements of the Shared Artifact Repository that is the cornerstone of HL7’s interdependent Tooling Architecture

HingX Alpha Project Participation • HingX project is at an Alpha Release State and still evolving • Existing PSS approved by TSC – Project Insite #904 • The Alpha Project Agreement signed this week • HL7 will support a limited number of projects • Tooling • Publishing • Templates • Work Groups to test the current capabilities and identify essential enhancements

  3. HingX Alpha Project Opportunities • Feedback and suggestions for improvement sent to the HingX development team will have a high priority on their development schedule • Opportunities to enhance current processes will be explored but no changes dependent on HingX will be introduced during the Alpha phase • Opportunity to participate in sustainability model discussions

Templates specific opportunities • Test HingX functionality against Templates Business Requirements specification • Receive and contribute to best practices presentations • Test actual template registrations by existing templates projects • Explore API opportunities to automate registration from external tools • Contribute to comprehensive metadata management strategies
