  2. Give the book a rating- one being resplendent, ten being abysmal. Explain why you gave the book the rating you did.

  3. What is one question you would ask the author? Why would you ask this question?

  4. What’s the most surprising thing you have read thus far?

  5. Pantomime something that has happened. Have peers guess what you are acting.

  6. What’s the most shocking thing to have happened yet?

  7. Write a Haiku (ironically, as it’s a Japanese form of poetry) about the book. Animals take over. Farmer Jones! Run for your life! The pigs are rising.

  8. Tie something in your choice book to first semester.
