The Life Cycle of a Dragon Fly By: Jordan Semen
Dragon Fly Eggs The eggs are laid in or near water. For some species that laid their eggs near water development will happen when rain showers appear and when the water level rises. If the temperature is good the eggs will hatch into larva in less than a mouth. The size of a egg is was measured by the micro-meter of the unit 0.1mm.
Nymph The eggs hatch into little nymphs witch continue to live in the water. The nymph doesn’t have wings. As the nymph grows it sheds its skin. The nymph can spend a long time in the water. When the nymph is fully grown it crawls up a plants stem and attaches itself just below the suface.
Adult Dragonfly The nymph comes out of his skin and becomes a adult dragonfly. After the dragonfly comes out of the nymph skin the dragonfly body and wings grows quickly as it pumps fluids into the dragonfly. Once the dragonfly is folly grown it has 4 wings 2 on each side. The adult dragonfly can life up to 2 months.
