Other Example Cultures • Examine companies we have been discussing • Boeing, A&F, Trader Joe’s, Southwest Airlines, Toyota, GE, GM, IBM, others? • What are the defining features of the culture? • How does the culture affect behavior at that organization?
Tomorrow’s Lab • Review your assigned role and prepare for the role play accordingly • DO NOT discuss your role with your partner or anyone else in the opposite role • You only need to be there for your assigned half hour • The session will be videotaped
Performance Feedback Paper • The details • 15 points; due Monday Dec. 4 • Approximately 6-8 pages long, double-spaced • To be done in pairs - each partner will receive the same score • The content • Describe what happened during the role play • Assess each person's feedback skills • What were each party's strengths? • What could each party have done better? • VCRs will be available in LDL rooms to view the videos
For Wednesday • Take IAT • Take one of the race or gender tests; review your feedback • Prepare essay (approx. 2 pgs) on the experience and what it means for you as a leader/manager • Use Banaji, et al article to help you interpret results • Readings on gender in the workplace • Brady, Tyson, and Fels articles • No handout
