ABSTRACT FORMULATION OF MANNITOL BASED GREEN TEA EXTRACT LOZENGES (The Influence of Polivinilpirolidon K-30 Concentration on Physical Tablet Performance) The objective of this study was determining the effect of PVP K-30 concentration as tablet binder on physical performance of Green Tea Extract Lozenges. The Lozenges were prepared by wet granulation method with difference concentration of PVP K-30 (1%, 3% and 5%). The granules were compressed with hydraulic press at 1 ton pressure. Physical quality test of green tea extract lozenges had been evaluated, including hardness, friability and dissolving time. From statistical analysis, there were significant different among the formulas for the hardness, friability and dissolving time. The results showed that hardness and dissolving time of green tea extract lozenges were enhanced by increasing PVP K-30 concentration and the friability was reduced by increasing PVP K-30 concentration. From this observation, it could be concluded that mannitol based green tea extract lozenges with 1% concentration of PVP K-30 was the optimum formula.
