What is SharePoint? • The marketing folks will tell you it is a collaboration platform • It makes it easy for knowledge workers to collaborate with each other • The can create their own sites • Easy to create and add content • Tight integration with Microsoft Office System • Good for them, good for IT.

  5. What is SharePoint? • Computer nerds will tell you it is an ASP.net application that sits on top of IIS • Easily extensible with ASP.net • Provides easy to use web part framework • Uses master pages • Uses ASP.net pluggable authentication • And more
