Why we need them • The short answer is so that we don’t die of dehydration. That is the renal function that we would miss most quickly (paradoxically, dehydration is rarely a consequence of acute renal failure but rather may be a cause of it). The control of salt and water balance is what the kidney is most famous for and were you to ask the average doctor in the street.
How they work Here is a diagram of the kidney • Kidneys are two of the most important organs in our body’s. They filter our blood and help get rid of waste products from our body’s.Each kidney is about the size of a mobile phone. They have an unusual shape - kidney beans are named after them because they are the same shape.They are found just under our back ribs, but you can't feel them with your hands.
