  3. Background • 2005 • Plan revised using structure and components to meet Enhancing Education Through Technology (EETT) grants and E-Rate • Approved for July 1, 2005 to June 30, 2010

  4. Background • 2009 • Revision process began with stakeholder committee • Included same structure and components • Completed by May 2010 • Approved for July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2013

  5. Background • EETT eliminated in 2011 • Technically, structure for plan is no longer required • Key components are excellent guidelines for future revisions • Important to have a workable plan in place • Cambrian’s guiding principles still apply

Guiding Principles • Primary purpose of technology is to promote student achievement. • Focus is on integration of technology in the classrooms and curriculum. • Technology is an integrated tool to increase efficiency, productivity, creativity, and learning. • Technology is preferred choice over traditional means when it is more efficient, produces a better product or promotes learning.

  7. Accomplishments 2010-2011 • Installed new PowerSchool server and version upgrade • Upgraded majority of teacher workstations • Successful completion of CALPADS data submission requirements • Added additional Ethernet switches and upgraded IOS on school routers • Added additional capacity to district's backup storage network

Accomplishments 2010-2011 • Implemented and/or piloted SuccessMaker at three schools • Installed at fourth school • Installed new SuccessMakerserver at Price • Distributed 23 donated iMacs to selected teachers through application process • GoogleApps site implemented and used at all schools • Created new domain - cambriansd.org

  9. Accomplishments 2010-2011 • Purchased 30 Dell computers for Rosetta Stone use with EL students • Increased number of Rosetta Stone licenses • Installed Smart Boards • Price increased to include most classrooms • Farnham and Bagby added two each

  10. Accomplishments 2010-2011 • Increased number of Computers on Wheels (COWS) • “Calf” added to Price • Refined PD website • Established Intranet site for staff on district website • Created Wiki site for science integration

  11. Goals • Actively support 21st Century Skills, particularly challenge based learning • Integrate technology throughout the curriculum • Increase use of technology for instruction • Create opportunities for learning beyond the school walls

  12. Next Steps • Review Tech Plan appendices to align with 21st century skills • Implement district wide wireless • Launch Digital Media Academy • Provide tablets for challenge based learning • Pilot iPod Touch with EL students • Create cycle plan for teacher workstation replacements • Provide targeted PD
