  1. Jennifer Spieser, Grants Administrator/Community Affairs PIO • Career History: Jennifer started her career in the non-profit sector in 2003, working as an Events Coordinator for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. From there, she worked as a Development Associate for the Cincinnati Parks Foundation. She joined the Cincinnati Fire Department (CFD) in June of 2007. • CFD objectives: Jennifer’s primary job focus at CFD is to research and file new and existing grants at the Federal, State and Local levels. She currently manages a $2M grant portfolio, as well as provides supervision of the Department’s restricted funds. Jennifer acts as a liaison between the CFD and multiple Federal, State and Local agencies. She collaborates with the Cincinnati Fire Foundation on behalf of the Cincinnati Fire Department. Jennifer also serves as the Fire Department's Community Affairs Public Information Officer. • Education: Jennifer received her B.A. in Communication, with a focus in Public Relations from the University of Cincinnati. • Community Outreach: “Class 2” graduate of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber’s “C-Change Leadership Program”. Jennifer volunteered for 5 years as a “Next Chapter Book Club” facilitator for the Hamilton County Development Disabilities Services (HDDS). She volunteered previously as an Advisory Board member for Give Back Cincinnati, and as a “Wish Grantor” for the Make a Wish Foundation. Jennifer currently serves as a Steering Committee member for 1000 Women Strong through the Greater Cincinnati Foundation’s Women’s Fund. • Family: Jennifer lives on the Westside of Cincinnati with her husband, Eric and 3 year-old daughter, Rachael. She loves music, cooking, reading, hiking and (most important) spending time with her family.
