Respect is very important at home, at school, and everywhere you go. When you show respect, you show that you care for other people's feelings or that you care for belongings, buildings, streets, and nature.
To show how much respect you have for people and things, try writing a fun respect poem. The easiest way to do this is to make simple list of what it means to be respectful at school and at home.
Take these lines, finish them and put them together in a poem. • I show respect for my parents by... • I show respect for my teacher by… • I show respect for my friends by... • I show respect for my classmates by... • I show respect for myself by …
Here's a sample poem showing respect at school: How I Show Respect Ishow respect for my parents by thanking them when they help me. I show respect for my teachers by not talking with my friends when they are teaching. I show respect for my friends by not making fun of them. I show respect for myself by doing the best job I can at school.

A Respect Poem • Your poem can be presented as a Word document, a poster or a T-shirt design. • The project has to be sent to our school web site. If you choose to make a poster or a T-shirt design, take a picture of your project and send it to our school web site. • Send your projects by January 15th, 2010. • You can work in pairs or in groups of three pupils. • The poem should include: a title, at least 4 lines, a picture illustrating the main idea and the author’s names.
