Testbed Access Rules

Lay down the rules for the use of the DataGrid Testbed, ensuring users' access to multiple sites while enforcing partner rules and national laws. Users must sign the rules, and sites must accept them.

Goal • Users on the DataGrid Testbed • Should access to several sites • Users should not register and sign rules of each sites • But they should know rules for the use of the DataGrid Testbed • Sites should • Accept all users of the DataGrid Testbed according application • Enforce their own partners rules and national laws We have to lay down the rules for use of DataGrid Testbed • Each users may sign these rules • Each sites must accept users who sign these rules

Principle rules • The DataGrid Testbed may only be used for professional purposes • These rules are without prejudice to application of the rules of each partners and each sites • Any national laws which may apply • Each sites and each partners have an security officer • Security officer of the various partners have to collaborate to solve incidents or misuses of the Testbed • To obtain an account for DataGrid Testbed, users have to: • Get a personal certificate from their own CA • Ask an account according to an application and be agree with the rules • Be registered to their VO application

Status of the document • First draft: July 11th 2001 • Actual version on the WP6 WWW: V10 of September 15th 2001 • Last discussion with legal service of CERN: April 9th 2002 • Modifications following the discussion • Title, Guidelines -> Rules • More precise sentences about the question of the application of partner rules, site rules and national laws • More precise sentences to describe the persons who have access to the information stored in the Testbed computing facilities • Some other minor modifications about text formulation • New version was accepted by CERN legal service: V12 on April 9th 2002 will replace the web version
