Lawrence • My background • I grew up in Miami, Florida. • I attended Howard Drive Elementary, Killian Senior High, Florida Memorial University, and Nova Southeastern University • I have a Bachelors in Elem. Ed and a Masters in Mathematics • My experience • I’ve been teaching for 11 years. • I have also taught high school courses such as Algebra and Geometry but seventh grade is my favorite.

  4. Hammocks theme • The theme is Together We Are Building ‘A’ Better Tomorrow!” • My goals are to give your children the mathematical skills they need to progress to ninth grade. • To provide a supportive and fun classroom environment.

  7. homework guidelines • Homework will be checked daily for completion and graded weekly and will count as one grade. One home learning assignment will be selected and graded. It is to your advantage to complete all assignments. You will not know which assignment will be selected. • Homework is given Monday through Thursday and sometimes on Friday • Homework must be done at home using homework guidelines.

  10. Tardiness Tardiness- it is very important that your child is on time to class. Excessive tardiness will result in the following: • 1sttime- warning • 2nd time- student/teacher talk • 3rd time- detention • 4th time- parent contact • 5th time- referral

  11. Materials required for Mathematics Class • 3 Ring Notebook • Scientific Calculator • 4 Dividers • Three Sharpened Pencils • Pens (2 blue or 2 black) • Colored Pencils • Lined Notebook Paper • Graph Paper • 2 Composition Notebooks

  12. Textbook/Technology MATH TEXTBOOK: • Each student will be given a student work text. An online edition of the hard copy math textbook can be found on the student portal. • (note: Digital Math Academy (Math Lab) is due at the end of the 9 weeks)
