Advantages of CAD • You can easily store and transfer images/drawings via ICT such as email to others working on project • You can easily alter your image if there are any changes to be made • You can manipulate images • You can view images in 3D which is useful
Advantages of CAD • You can scale images up and down • You can use a variety of artworks to include diagrams such as trees, wallpaper • Can produce a list of components automatically – which can be used to list dimensions • Stress/Strain calculations allow you create designs that are safe.
Examples of CAD • Producing Kitchens or bathroom designs for customers • Used by architects designing buildings • Used by landscapers to design gardens • Producing designs for a component to be manufactured
