The 80s/90s *Hip-Hop was largely confined within the context of the United States. *During the 1980s Hip-Hop was spread to more countries, particularly those that had large ethnic groups. *Artists such as; MC Hammer, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, the Notorious B.I.G& Run DMC became known for their contribution to Hip-Hop.

Nowadays *Hip-Hop is one of the largest youth cultures in the world. *Eminem’s album ‘The Marshall Mathers LP’ sold over ten million copies in the US alone. Eminem is the most successful white rapper of all time. *Artists that have been introduced through Hip-Hop in the 21st century are as follows; Nicki Minaj, Usher, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Drake, Young Money, Wiz Khalifa& Jamie Foxx.
