Skill exercise: developing your political skill (p.47) • About the skill A person’s political skill is determined by his or her networking ability, interpersonal influence, social astuteness, and apparent sincerity. • Practicing the skill Write a brief set of notes describing your experiences about using political skills.

  3. 1.Develop your networking ability • A great tool in Management is network, which is ,in another word, how much you know others, and how much they know about you. A well-connected person is better than a hard-working person nowadays,

  5. 2.Work on gaining interpersonal influence • People will listen to you when they’re comfortable and feel at ease around you. Good communication skills and being open, friendly, willing to pitch in is what it needs.

  7. 3.Develop your social astuteness • A “ social astuteness” is one’s awareness to those around him/her. That is, pay attention to others facial expressions, and try to do the right thing at the right time.
