Until you have an intimate relationship with the Lord you will never be able to have a truly intimate relationship with another person. Our relationship with the Lord is supposed to be the model for how we handle our human relationships.
What Does Spiritual Maturity Look Like? • Everything is no longer all about you. • You read the Bible to learn more about Jesus, not how to answer your current crisis. • You no longer filter things through broken emotions. • You long to spend time with the Lord. • You’re able to see things with a spiritual perspective, not an earthly one.
What Does Spiritual Maturity Look Like? • Everything is no longer all about you. • You come to church to serve, instead of just being fed.
When you’re hanging on by a thin thread, the last thing you want to do is serve someone else.
What Does Spiritual Maturity Look Like? • Everything is no longer all about you. • You come to church to serve, instead of just being fed. • You begin to pray with no strings attached.
God, do this… God, give me… God, do it this way…
What Does Spiritual Maturity Look Like? • Everything is no longer all about you. • You come to church to serve, instead of just being fed. • You begin to pray with no strings attached. • You ask the Lord what you can do for Him, instead of asking what He can do for you.
Ask not what the Lord can do for you, but what you can do for the Lord.
