  1. 11. Interception of Aircraft -1 A military aircraft may be sent to intercept your plane if it strays into a Restricted , Military or Prohibited Airspace. Or ATC may tell a pilot to contact the Controller concerned In the unlikely event of being intercepted, It is wise (!) to follow the instructions of the intercepting aircraft but you can also attempt radio contact on an Emergency Frequency (121.5 or 243MHz) using INTERCEPTED AIRCRAFT as your callsign, oryou can alert ATC by squawking 7700. The following phrases may help if you and the intercepting pilot do not have a common language: Callsign KOLSA-IN What is your callsign?/My callsign is.. Follow FOLLO Follow me Wilco VILL-KO Will comply Cannot KANN-NOTT Cannot comply Repeat REE-PEET Repeat your instruction Am lost AM LOSST Position unknown/uncertain of position Mayday MAYDAY Am in distress Descend DEE-SEND Descend for landing/request descent You land YOU LAAND Land at this airport Land (airport name) LAAND (airport name) Request landing at (airport) Proceed PRO-SEED You may proceed For further details see ENR Section 1.12-1 of the AIP

Interception of Aircraft -2 If R/T communication is not possible, there are international visual signals:- Intercepting AircraftIntercepted AircraftMeaning Rocking wings, ahead and to the L or R Rock wings and follow You have been of the intercepted aircraft then slow intercepted level turn on to new heading. Irregular flashing of nav lights Follow me/ Irregular flashing of nav lights at night. at night. Will comply Overflying runway in the landing direction Low level runway inspection Land here/will with lowered landing gear. Landing lights with lowered landing gear then comply on at night land if safe. Landing lights at night Position ahead and to the L of intercepted Overflying airport at 1 – 2000 ftCannot land here aircraft, then slowly turning onto new raising gear, then circling, /Follow me to heading flashing landing lights at night alternate airport
