  3. Basic information about Poland:

  4. Poland lies in the heart of Europe - the geometric centre of the continent is right here. Polish countryside is very differential: theBalticSea theTatra Mountains

  5. Masuria, the lake district the Vistula river– thelongestin Poland

  6. Gdańsk Warsaw The most known cities in Poland Wrocław Cracow

  7. Poland is administratively divided into 16 regions – Voivodships, our city is located in the region of Silesia in the south of Poland. You can find many mines, factories, steal works and many people who live in a block of flats in Silesia. However, in our region there are many greenareasand low mountains where you can spend your free time. Silesia Silesia is the most populous region in the Poland.

  8. Jastrzębie Zdrój is a city with a population of over 100,000 people. The city used to be a spa in the past, but today new industrial sectors are being developed. Nowadays, Jastrzębie Zdrój ischanginginto an academic centre, educating young people fromthesurroundingcities.

  9. Jastrzębie Zdrój is a very green city. There are treesand lots of flowerseverywhere. Itmakes you feel a bit happier, especiallyin a region full of mines and factories.

  11. Therearearound 700 students in our school and 70 teachers but theatmosphereisverycosy . We have a large gym, a language laboratory, a library full of books and two IT laboratories. Thelevel of educationisvery high.

  12. Our school has been renovated recently so theclassrooms are very modern and they are equippedwith new computers. Thereis a small park nearbywhere we can go after a harddayatschoolor play truant.

  13. We record broadcasts together with our IT teacher, Mr Piotr Stafin.

  14. In January 2009 we visited the other school from Poland whichtakes part in the project. In Sławków we wereworkingtogether on thesurveyaboutourbroadcasts.

  15. In March 2009 we went to Austria. Theschool was locatedin a small, cutetownHausmannstäten, surrounded by mountins. Pogoda była iście wiosenna i słoneczna. We met atschoolwitheverybodyeveryday . We took part in many trips, amongothers, to Graz, thesecondbiggest city in Austria, to Piberwhere we saw many beautifulwhitehorses and to chocolatefactory Zotter.

  16. We spentwonderful five daysin an international company. It was reallyhard to leavethisbeautiful place and suchhospitablepeople.

  17. In May 2009 we went to Finland. Theschool was locatedinHAAPAVESI, far away (1,5 h) from Oulu – one of thebiggestcitiesinFinnland. In an international company we got to know„thecountry of one thousandlakes” and themotherland of well-knownto every one creaturescalledMoomins.

  18. In Oulu we visited Science Centre Tietomawhere we couldevenlie on thefakir’sbed. Theschoolbuildingdidn’tseem to be a schoolatthe first sight and we weresurprised by thenumber of bikesin front of it. Moreover, it was unusual for us to drink milkwhilehaving lunch.

  19. Finnishpeopleturned out to be veryhospitable and helpful. Finlandis a perfect place to relaxinthe bossom of nature and it’stoolittle to discoveritsbeautyin five days.

  20. In October 2009 we went to Lithuania. Thefourthmeetingtook place intheSecondarySchoolinKaunasPalamonas.

  21. Lithuanianstudentsshowedustheir national folk dances. We visitedalso a Trakaicastlewhosehistory was connectedwith Poland.

  22. We wererecordingbroadcaststogether, learning Lithuanianlanguage and visiting shopping centreinthefree time.

  23. Lastevening was reallymemorable. Every country was to prepareits national dish. Our team preparedchicken soup with pasta(„rosół z kury z makaronem”). Italian group preparedthebiggestnumber of deliciousdishes and Austrianteam preparedthefamousSacherCake. Attheend, we were learning how to dance national dancesfromevery country.
