New CCSS assessments available in math and ELA, grades 3-8 4 diagnostic assessments per subject per grade Authentically aligned to CCSS Each form measures a separate time period of curriculum: to be administered after 25%, 50% 75% and 90% of curriculum has been taught Forms become progressively more difficult; with an increasing proportion of content on each form emerging from the CCSS Helps students adjust to increased rigor of CCSS items 96 newly created extended constructed response and 36 performance tasks will also be available Forms include 20 MC and 2 CR Acuity CCSS Grades 3-8 Edition

Acuity High School New interim assessments aligned to Common Core State Standards CTB’s first assessment emerged from the common core standards Some item interactivity (released over the next few months) Provides assessment and instructional content and technical capabilities that will enable US students to succeed in college and the global economy 6

Acuity High School: ELA ELA: 8 diagnostic forms per grade 4 less difficult, and 4 more difficult Forms include: Session 1: 25 MC and 3 CR – focuses on reading standards Session 2: 13 MC - focuses on writing and language Forms can be adjusted in custom test builder Instructional Resources aligned to CCSS (in development) 7

Acuity High School: ELA ELA Form Design: Configured to fit into traditional English 1, 2, 3, 4 courses Form variety keeps students engaged: Literary passages Informational passages 1 Smaller passages (poem, email, instructions) Research and language development items Most literary passages will be selected to emphasize a focus on authentic literature 8

Acuity High School Custom Test and Performance Assessments Interactive items in custom item bank For ELA 500 items for HS ELA 250-item bank per grade 15% performance task, group-based, and constructed response 10% technology-based interactive items CTB Developed Performance Tasks in each item bank Rigorous innovative extended constructed response, collaborative/group items, performance tasks Teacher created Performance Assessments These are stand alone assessments that teachers can create 9

  10. Acuity: Assessment Features Designed to be administered in one-two class periods online or offline Test items are research based. They have been developed and subjected to rigorous test item analyses for reliability and validity.

  11. Acuity: Instructional Resources • Online exercises for customizing learning activities by state standard or skill group (Skill group feature returns in March 2012) • Easily assigned from reports • Three components:

Acuity Reports Track Student Performance on Individual Assessments Roster Report lists scores for each student within a class or each class within a school Assessment Report displays student performance on each standard by “tier” Item Analysis Report displays students’ performance on each item, organized by performance indicator; provides distractor analysis to pinpoint common errors AYP Report disaggregates student performance by NCLB subgroups at the school level

Acuity Reports Track Student Progress on Assessments Within and Across School Years Portfolio Report displays individual student performance on all assessments across one school year Summary Report compares student or class assessment results to larger student populations (school and district) within one school year Longitudinal Report displays student performance on all assessments by subject across multiple school years
