NO NUKES:The MUSE Concert for a Non-Nuclear Future A group of the world's leading musicians gathered at New York's Madison Square Garden for five nights of music and magic to raise money and awareness regarding the threat of nuclear activity in the world. The catalyst for the event was the murder of Karen Silkwood for blowing the whistle on the practices of her nuclear power employer. Silkwood's family found tickets to a Bonnie Raitt/Jackson Browne concert in the glove compartment of the car she died in. They called Raitt and asked her help raise awareness of the dangers of the nuclear industry.
