Options • Dedicated (probably OC192/POS) • SLAC-SU-PAIX fiber patch • PAIX to SNV via CENIC wavelength • SNV to LA via dedicated CENIC wavelength • LA cross connect from CENIC to L(3) • Unclear how SciNet will monitor • Shared (probably LAN-PHY) • SLAC-SU-PAIX fiber patch • PAIX to SNV via CENIC wavelength • Connect to CENIC 10 G shared to LA • Connect to Abilene 10 G shared backbone which will have connectivity to SC03

Loans/Equipment • Needs DWDM cards from Cisco muxes at PAIX, SNV and LA • Also will need 10G card at SLAC & at SC03 booth • Sun also want to 2 provide file servers with bonded 4*1GE interfaces, try high speed disk-to-disk • One at SLAC, one at SC03 • Could run Solaris or Linux • Linux better for FAST TCP and jumbos • Solaris may have better disk throughput • Will take Alcippe and zAntonia to SC03, leave iphicles at SLAC • Have ordered 2 10GE Intel cards
