  2. What is Narcissism? • Means Self Centeredness • Many argue that self fulfillment has led to being more narcissistic. • “Be all you can be” and other popular slogans are good examples of this new value. • A great example is music!

Music Lyrics? • Univ. of Kentucky professor Kenneth Dewall conducted a study on how society’s values were reflected in music. • He studied music lyrics from the 1980’s to 2007. • He found a statistically significant trend toward narcissism in the music, with the words “I” and “me” gradually replacing “we” and “us.”
