  6. Format varies but there are several key elements to the genre

  7. Clear and informative title stating the topic

  8. Purpose and learning objectives to orient the facilitator towards specific goals

  9. Group introductions allow participants to share and get to know each other

  10. Introduction to the topic contextualizes the issues

  11. Relevant facts and statistics concretely inform participants about the issue

  12. Specific questions for the facilitator to ask the audience are included to create discussion

  13. Clear points of discussion help the facilitator guide a focused group conversation

  14. Group activities engage the workshop participants in thoughtful discourse

  15. Sections of the curriculum provide suggested time limits

  16. Facilitator’s notes provide further information on how to teach the workshop

  17. Workshops often close by summarizing the discussion and asking further questions
