  2. Department of Health And Services • The United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), is a Cabinet department with the goal of protecting the health of all Americans and providing essential human services.

  4. Department Of Health And Services • The Department began when President Jimmy Carter signed the Department of Education of Organization Act on October 17, 1979. • This split the current Department of Health, Education and Welfare into two parts.

Administration for Children And Families • "The Administration for Children and Families (ACF), within the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), provides national leadership and creates opportunities for families to lead economically and socially productive lives. ACF's programs are designed to help children to develop into healthy adults and communities to become more prosperous and supportive of their members."

  7. The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality • The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) which supports research designed to improve the outcomes and quality of health care, reduce its costs, address patient safety and medical errors, and broaden access to effective services

  8. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention • The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention works to protect public health and safety by providing information to enhance health decisions, and it promotes health through partnerships with state health departments and other organizations.

The Food and Drug Administration • The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is responsible for the safety regulation of most types of foods, dietary supplements, drugs, vaccines, biological medical products, blood products, medical devices, radiation-emitting devices, veterinary products, and cosmetics. The FDA also enforces section 361 of the Public Health Service Act and the associated regulations.

  11. Law: The National Cancer Act • The National Cancer Act of 1971 is a United States federal law enacted in 1971. The act was intended "to amend the Public Health Service Act so as to strengthen the National Cancer Institute of Health in order more effectively to carry out the national effort against cancer". It was signed into law by U.S. President Richard Nixon on December 23, 1971.
